As the summer months approach every year, families gear up for their annual family reunion gathering. Tons of laughter is sure to erupt as stories from years gone by are shared and re-shared for the younger generations to hear and others to recall with fondness. Meals are shared and the feeling of togetherness grows.
When families come to Washington DC for their reunion, other opportunities are available for sharing too. One such opportunity is an African American Heritage Tour. Heritage Tours help us to remember the past and to remember those who worked hard for equality for all people. However, this tour is great for people of all ages.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the biggest leaders of the Civil Rights Movement during the 1950’s and 60’s. His tireless work is remembered at the MLK Memorial, which is a big part of our tour. In addition, the Lincoln Memorial is also a big part of the tour and this is where Dr. King gave his famous “I have a Dream” speech so long ago.
Other important heritage sites we visit include the Frederick Douglass Home, the African American Civil War Memorial and more. The video will give you a glimpse into what is covered in the tour. Also, you can call 888.796.8763 to join a tour or to arrange for your family reunion to have a private tour in a fully-equipped motor coach!
